In a shocking incident of reckless driving, four individuals sustained injuries after a 22-year-old man, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, rammed his speeding car into multiple vehicles in Jabalpur city, Madhya Pradesh. Police authorities confirmed the distressing event on Sunday, highlighting the severe consequences of driving while intoxicated.
Midnight Mayhem on Omti Stretch
The chaotic crash occurred around midnight on Saturday along a one-kilometre stretch within the jurisdiction of the Omti police station. According to Inspector Rajpal Singh Baghel, the driver, identified as Anurag Soni, lost control of his vehicle, leading to a series of collisions that endangered numerous lives.
Eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports indicate that Soni's car first crashed into three other cars, then struck several two-wheelers, before finally slamming into the wall of a nearby garden. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was left mangled, requiring emergency responders to extract Soni from the wreckage.
Injuries and Immediate Response
Inspector Baghel detailed that Soni, who appeared visibly intoxicated at the scene, was rushed to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. The collision also left three other victims wounded, including a policeman on duty and a teenager who was riding a two-wheeler. All injured parties received prompt medical attention, though the extent of their conditions remains under assessment.
Following the incident, authorities conducted a mandatory medical examination on Soni, which conclusively confirmed that he was in an inebriated state at the time of the accident. This finding has become a critical piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
