Drunk Man's Prank Bomb Call Leads to Arrest in Jaipur

Jaipur police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat call to the city's control room in the early hours of Sunday. The accused, identified as Ravi Meena, is reported to have made the call under the influence of alcohol, triggering a major security alert across three key locations.

Swift Police Action After Midnight Threat

According to officials, the Jaipur police control room received a disturbing call at 3:17 am on Sunday. The caller claimed that bombs would explode at three separate sites: Anand Vihar in Sanganer, the busy Jaipur Junction railway station, and the Vaishali Nagar area. He stated the blasts would occur in that sequence.

Acting immediately on the input, the police alerted all field units and heightened security measures at the mentioned locations. Local teams conducted thorough searches and sanitized the areas. However, no suspicious items or explosives were found after the extensive checks.

Technical Surveillance Leads to Rapid Arrest

Utilizing technical surveillance and call tracing methods, investigators quickly zeroed in on the caller's location. The probe led them to Ravi Meena, a resident of Baloni in Sapotra, Karauli. At the time, Meena was working as a waiter at Hotel Raghukul in Anand Vihar, one of the locations he had threatened.

He was detained and questioned within hours of making the call. The mobile phone used to issue the false threat was also seized by the police.

"Wanted to See Police Response": Accused's Bizarre Reason

During interrogation, Ravi Meena confessed to the act. He told the police that he had consumed alcohol late at night and made the call out of sheer curiosity. An investigating officer revealed that Meena said "he wanted to see how the police would respond" to such a serious threat.

His drunken prank, however, wasted significant police resources and caused unnecessary alarm. The police have registered a case against him, and he remains in custody for further legal proceedings. This incident highlights the serious consequences of making false threats to security forces, which is a punishable offence.
