A tragic and violent incident in South Delhi's Sangam Vihar area has resulted in the death of a 27-year-old law student, allegedly at the hands of his own relatives. The fatal stabbing on Friday appears to have originated from a long-standing and seemingly mundane dispute over keeping the area around their homes clean.
The Fatal Altercation Over Household Cleanliness
According to police, the victim was a first-year LLB student at Delhi University. The preliminary investigation points to the root cause being a recurring argument between the student's mother and his aunt. The mother owns a buffalo, and the two women frequently clashed over cow dung being left near the house.
The situation escalated dramatically on Friday morning. The victim's sister stated that their mother was speaking to a neighbour about waste near the house when the aunt began abusing her. The LLB student initially intervened to defuse the tension and took his mother inside their home.
Tragically, when the young man stepped outside again, he was attacked. His aunt had allegedly called her husband, son, and a minor relative to the spot. A physical scuffle ensued, during which the student was stabbed. "One person held my brother from behind and another stabbed him," the grieving sister claimed.
Police Response and Ongoing Manhunt
Authorities received a PCR call around 11:30 am on Friday. A police team rushed to the location and found the student critically injured. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Law enforcement has apprehended two individuals in connection with the case: the victim's aunt and a 15-year-old relative. Police confirmed that both families live in close proximity to each other in Sangam Vihar. However, the investigation is far from over. Officers stated they are actively searching for two more people believed to be involved in the attack.
