Jodhpur: In a bizarre incident, an unidentified person allegedly drove away a sand-laden dumper truck parked inside a police outpost in Jodhpur's Luni police station area on Sunday. The perpetrator unloaded the material at an undisclosed location and later returned the empty vehicle to the same police premises without being detected.
Incident Details
Following the incident, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Umesh Chandra, who was on patrol at the time, registered a case of theft against unidentified persons. Sources indicate that investigators are also probing possible negligence or connivance of the outpost staff who were on duty during the incident.
Seizure of Dumpers
According to the complaint, a police team had seized three overloaded dumper trucks carrying gravel in the early hours of May 8 due to lack of valid documents. All three vehicles were parked inside the Dhundhara outpost premises. One of the dumpers had been seized from Mukesh Jat, a resident of Bara Khurd village in the Khedapa police station area.
A preliminary inquiry has been initiated, and a case of theft has been registered against unidentified accused. Police stated that efforts are underway to recover the stolen gravel and identify those involved in the incident.
