DVAC Arrests Revenue Inspector for Bribery in Krishnagiri

KRISHNAGIRI: Sleuths from the Directorate Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) apprehended a revenue inspector in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant.

The accused, identified as K Senthil, a revenue inspector in the district survey office, had demanded the bribe from M Gopi of Dasirappalli village in Veppanahalli taluk. Gopi had applied for a sub-division patta for his father’s agricultural land. According to a DVAC official, Senthil demanded Rs 10,000 to move the application forward.

Unwilling to pay the bribe, Gopi approached the DVAC on Tuesday. Acting on the complaint, officials laid a trap and caught Senthil red-handed while he was receiving the chemical-coated money from Gopi on Wednesday.
