Dwarka Crash: Speeding SUV Driven by Minor Kills 23-Year-Old BBA Student
A tragic accident in Dwarka has claimed the life of a 23-year-old man after an SUV, allegedly driven by a minor without a valid license, collided with his motorcycle. The incident occurred near Lal Bahadur Shastri College, resulting in multiple vehicle damages and sparking a police investigation.
Fatal Collision and Immediate Aftermath
Police registered an FIR at Dwarka South police station under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections following a PCR call at 11:57 AM reporting a serious crash. Sahil Dhaneshra was found dead at the scene, while an injured taxi driver was promptly shifted to IGI Hospital for medical treatment. The preliminary probe indicates that the SUV first collided with Sahil's motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and then rammed into a parked car, leaving three vehicles in accidental condition at the location.
Allegations of Reckless Driving and Social Media Stunts
The victim's mother, Inna Makan, who raised Sahil single-handedly, has made serious allegations against the minor driver. She claims that the juvenile was making "fun reels" with his sister and driving at high speed before veering into the opposite lane. According to her account, the SUV performed stunts and failed to apply brakes before crashing into Sahil's bike, describing the incident as "criminal activity." She has also questioned why stricter action was not taken despite alleged prior overspeeding challans against the vehicle.
Shattered Dreams and Emotional Appeal for Justice
Sahil Dhaneshra was in the final semester of his BBA and had secured admission to a university in Manchester, preparing to move to the UK for further studies. Medals and notes at his Dwarka home now stand as poignant reminders of aspirations left unfulfilled. Inna Makan, devastated by the loss of her son after 23 years of nurturing his ambitions, has taken to social media to seek justice, calling his death an irreparable loss and urging authorities to hold those responsible accountable.
Ongoing Police Investigation and Legal Implications
The case highlights concerns about juvenile driving and road safety in Delhi. Police are continuing their investigation into the multi-vehicle collision, with the FIR underscoring the severity of the incident. The involvement of a minor behind the wheel without a license raises questions about enforcement and parental supervision, adding a layer of complexity to the legal proceedings as authorities work to determine full liability and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
