Kheda Police Arrest Eight Men for Alleged Prolonged Sexual Assault of Minor
In a deeply disturbing case from Gujarat, the Kheda district police have apprehended eight individuals accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl over a period of nearly three years. According to police officials, the horrific abuse allegedly began during the Ramadan period of 2023 and continued until 2025, with the victim now aged 17.
Details of the Alleged Conspiracy and Abuse
Investigators state that the main accused, identified as Parvez Pathan, allegedly lured the minor into a relationship approximately two years ago. After gaining her trust, he and eight others are accused of engaging in a calculated conspiracy to repeatedly sexually assault her. The police have emphasized that this was not an isolated incident but a systematic pattern of exploitation.
The seven other individuals arrested alongside Parvez Pathan are:
- Mahir Khan Pathan (24)
- Faizan Khan Pathan (23)
- Taufiq Khan Pathan (23)
- Ayan Khan Pathan (19)
- Moin Khan Pathan (22)
- Marukh Khan Pathan (25)
- Salman Khan Pathan (26)
A ninth accused, Sahil Pathan, remains absconding, and a manhunt is currently underway to locate him.
Blackmail and Intimidation Tactics Revealed
The accused allegedly employed severe blackmail and intimidation to silence the victim. Police reports indicate that they recorded explicit videos of the girl and used this material to threaten her. She was allegedly warned that the videos would be shared on social media and that she would face death if she resisted the abuse or reported it to anyone.
Kheda Superintendent of Police, Vijay Patel, provided crucial details about the case's progression. He confirmed that the matter came to light only after the girl's family learned about the ongoing abuse and formally approached the police.
Legal Charges and Ongoing Investigation
The Kheda Town police have registered a comprehensive case under multiple stringent provisions. The charges include sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to rape, gang rape, criminal intimidation, and criminal conspiracy. Additionally, sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have been invoked, given the victim's minor status during the alleged crimes.
Superintendent Patel confirmed that eight of the nine accused are now in custody, while the investigation continues actively. Police teams are diligently collecting technical and forensic evidence to build a robust case against the perpetrators. As part of the investigative process, the arrested accused were taken to the alleged crime scene for reconstruction proceedings to verify details and gather additional evidence.
This case highlights the critical importance of vigilance and prompt legal action in protecting minors from sexual exploitation. The Kheda police's swift response and the application of stringent laws underscore a commitment to justice for the survivor.
