Elderly man files complaint against woman for road rage assault

A 73-year-old resident of Bopal in Ahmedabad filed a police complaint on Tuesday against an unidentified woman, accusing her of first ramming her car into his e-scooter and then physically assaulting him when he confronted her about her reckless driving.

Details of the Incident

According to the complaint registered at the Bopal police station, the incident took place around 7:00 PM on Tuesday. The complainant was on his way to his daughter's residence. While he was taking a turn, a speeding four-wheeler allegedly struck the left side of his electric scooter. The impact threw him onto the road, causing minor injuries to his waist and head.

Alleged Assault After Collision

In the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant stated that after the collision, a woman stepped out of the car. When he objected to her driving, she allegedly began using abusive language. The complainant further alleged that when he asked her to refrain from using foul language, she became aggressive, manhandled him, and scratched his neck with her nails.

Escape and Police Response

According to the complaint, the woman drove away after a crowd gathered at the scene. The complainant's daughter also arrived and dialed 112 to alert emergency services. Police personnel later took the complainant to the Bopal police station.

Legal Action

An FIR has been filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to rash and negligent driving, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal intimidation against the unidentified woman driver. Police said efforts are underway to trace the accused using vehicle registration details and CCTV footage.
