Elderly Woman Brutally Murdered in Amritsar Village Robbery
Panic has gripped Mohan Bhandarian village, located under the jurisdiction of the Jhander police station in Amritsar, following a horrific incident where members of a robbery gang allegedly broke into the house of an elderly woman, murdered her, and decamped with valuable items.
Victim Identified as Paramjit Kaur
According to police reports, the victim has been identified as Paramjit Kaur. The tragic event occurred on Saturday morning when she was alone at her home. Family members later discovered her lying in a pool of blood inside a room upon their return.
Details of the Crime Scene
Satnam Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO), stated that CCTV cameras installed near the crime scene have been taken into possession, and the footage is currently being examined. He emphasized that an investigation is underway, with efforts focused on identifying and arresting the accused at the earliest.
Family's Account of the Incident
The victim's son, Sumandeep Singh, who operates a grocery shop, provided further details. He explained that his mother was alone as his father had gone to attend a family wedding, and he himself had left for his shop in the morning. Around 2 PM, someone informed his father via phone that his wife was lying injured inside the house.
Upon receiving the call, the father alerted Sumandeep, who rushed home immediately. The family found Paramjit Kaur critically injured with multiple injury marks on her body. Her gold earrings were missing, and blood was seen coming from her ears. Additionally, gold bangles from her wrists and other valuables from the house were also found to be stolen.
Aftermath and Police Response
The family promptly shifted her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police officials have reiterated that efforts are ongoing to trace the culprits involved in this heinous crime.
