Elderly Woman Brutally Murdered by Husband in Sirsa Domestic Violence Case
In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a 65-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in the Ellenabad area of Sirsa district, police confirmed on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Jasbir Kaur, was brutally attacked with a spade by her husband, Jarnail Singh, following a heated argument at their residence.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to police reports, the couple lived with their elder son, Gursevaksingh, and daughter-in-law, while their younger son resides in Australia. On Tuesday morning, the elder son and his wife traveled to Malout in Punjab to purchase medicines, leaving the elderly couple alone at home.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple frequently argued over domestic issues. The deceased reportedly complained about neglect and lack of proper care, which often led to heated disputes between the two.
Escalation of Violence
On the day of the incident, the argument escalated dramatically. Police stated that the accused picked up a spade and repeatedly struck his wife on the head until she succumbed to her injuries. After committing the crime, the accused fled the spot.
The incident came to light around noon when neighbors and a local driver noticed the victim lying in a pool of blood inside the house. By the time the elder son and his wife returned, the accused had already fled the scene.
Police Investigation Underway
Police officials confirmed that efforts are underway to trace the accused, and his location is being actively tracked. "Further details will emerge once he is apprehended and questioned," officials stated.
