Chandigarh: An unidentified person snatched gold earrings from an elderly woman and fled on Friday morning. The incident occurred when the woman was returning home from a shop in Sector 37. The entire sequence was captured on a CCTV camera installed at the location.
Police Investigation Underway
Officers from Sector 39 police station arrived at the scene, recorded the victim's statement, and initiated a search for the suspect. The elderly woman, identified as Amarjeet Kaur, 72, a resident of Sector 37, stated that she was just a few steps away from her house when a man approached her and snatched her earrings. She attempted to chase the accused but was unable to catch him.
Public Response
When she raised an alarm, passersby gathered and informed the police. Authorities are reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator.
