A tragic incident in Gurgaon has claimed the life of a 90-year-old retired army veteran. The elderly man, identified as Phool Singh, died on Sunday afternoon after falling from the unguarded terrace of his two-storey house in Tikli village.

The Fatal Sunbath Turned Tragic

According to police officials familiar with the investigation, the incident occurred around 4:30 PM. Phool Singh had reportedly gone to the terrace of his home to take a sunbath. The terrace, critically, lacked any protective iron grill or safety fencing. An officer stated that the victim apparently lost his balance, leading to the fatal fall. He sustained severe injuries to his head and body and was pronounced dead at the spot.

Police Investigation and Family Statements

The Badshahpur police station was informed about the accident around 5 PM. A team promptly arrived to inspect the location. Officers confirmed that no foul play was suspected in the death. The family members were present inside the house when the unfortunate event took place. Police have recorded their statements, and no suspicious circumstances have emerged from the preliminary inquiry.

Legal Procedure and Last Rites

The body of the deceased was sent for a postmortem examination. The procedure was conducted under Section 194 (inquest) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Following the necessary legal formalities, the remains were handed over to the grieving family to perform the last rites.
