HYDERABAD: The wife of former IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray was found murdered at their residence in Hyderabad's upscale Jubilee Hills area on Friday. Police suspect the involvement of the family's recently hired domestic help from Nepal and her associates in the crime.
Details of the Incident
The suspects allegedly smothered Sunanda (55) and fled with valuables from the house. They are currently absconding. Sunanda's body was discovered on the first floor of the family's three-storey house in Prashasan Nagar locality. Vinay Ranjan Ray was reportedly out of the city when the incident occurred.
Police Investigation
Senior police officers, including Hyderabad police commissioner V C Sajjanar, visited the crime scene. A forensic team also inspected the spot and collected evidence. The Jubilee Hills police have registered a murder case, and special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
