Jaipur: Former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) acting chairman Shiv Singh Rathore was summoned for questioning by the Special Operations Group (SOG) on Tuesday in connection with the 2022 School Lecturer Agriculture exam paper leak case.
Rathore Denies Involvement
Rathore claimed he had no connection with the paper leak case and was not involved in the matter. He asserted that the examination was conducted after his retirement from the commission. Despite being questioned, he maintained his innocence throughout the session.
Released but May Be Questioned Again
After hours of interrogation, Rathore was allowed to leave the SOG office in the evening. However, sources indicated that he is likely to be summoned again for further questioning as the investigation progresses.
Background of the Case
The questioning of Rathore comes two days after the SOG arrested three individuals, including former RPSC member Babu Lal Katara. Katara is accused of allegedly supplying the question paper to Sher Singh Meena for a sum of Rs 60 lakh. The arrest was a significant breakthrough in the case.
Interrogation Leads to Rathore
Sources revealed that during Katara's interrogation, investigators obtained information that led them to summon Rathore. The SOG is now probing the extent of Rathore's possible involvement in the leak.
The paper leak case has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process. The SOG continues to investigate all angles to ensure accountability.
