Ex-Serviceman Dies by Suicide in Gurgaon, Police Probe Family Disputes

In a tragic incident in Gurgaon, a 43-year-old ex-serviceman died by suicide at his residence in Sohna on Sunday. The man, identified as Kishan, a resident of Kherla village, used his licensed pistol to shoot himself. He had been working as a security supervisor at KR Mangalam University after retiring from the armed forces.

Details of the Incident

Police reported that the suicide occurred inside a room at his house while his family members were present at home. An officer stated, "He used his own licensed service weapon, which he retained after retirement, to shoot himself." A preliminary inquiry suggests that Kishan was under mental distress due to family disputes, though the exact cause is still being examined.

After hearing the gunshot, family members rushed him to the hospital, where authorities alerted the police. A team reached the spot and shifted the body for a post-mortem, scheduled for Monday.

Family Background and Investigation

Kishan is survived by his wife and three children: a 20-year-old daughter, an 18-year-old son, and a 13-year-old son. No suicide note has been found so far, and police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Second Suicide Case in Gurgaon

In another distressing case, a 28-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Gwalpahari village under DLF Phase 1 police station on Saturday evening. Deepak, who worked at a private company, was working from home that day.

Police said Deepak's parents had gone to attend a wedding in the evening, while his sister Neha was at home. Deepak was working on his laptop in one room, while Neha was in another part of the house. After some time, Neha found her brother hanging from a ceiling fan.

She immediately alerted neighbours, who rushed to the house. They brought him down and took him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Authorities are investigating this case as well, with no immediate cause determined.

Community Impact and Police Response

These incidents have shocked the local community in Gurgaon, highlighting concerns over mental health and family conflicts. Police are urging residents to seek help during times of distress and are working to provide support to the affected families.

The investigations into both suicides are ongoing, with officials emphasizing the importance of addressing mental health issues proactively.
