Delhi Airport Police Bust Fake French Visa Racket, Arrest Tamil Nadu Agent
Fake French Visa Racket Busted at Delhi Airport

In a significant crackdown, the Delhi Police unit at Indira Gandhi International Airport has dismantled a sophisticated racket involved in forging French visas for Indian citizens dreaming of jobs abroad. The operation led to the arrest of a key agent from Tamil Nadu, exposing a scam that promised lucrative warehouse positions in Paris.

Agent Confesses to Luring Job Aspirants

The arrested individual has been identified as V Kannan Vadamalai. During interrogation by the police, Kannan confessed to his role in the fraudulent scheme. He revealed that he operated a so-called "government-affiliated ITI" in Paramathi and also ran an overseas education consultancy named "Vetri Overseas" in Velur.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Vichitra Veer, the agent admitted to luring at least 16 job seekers with promises of warehouse employment in Paris, France. The aspirants were interviewed, after which counterfeit French D-type visas were arranged for them.

Modus Operandi and Financial Trail

The investigation uncovered that Kannan did not work alone. He operated with the help of a co-accused agent, Sathik Syed, also known as Abdul Hakim, from Madurai. Together, they identified and convinced victims to part with their money for the fake visas and placement services.

Payments were collected through a mix of methods to avoid detection. Some transactions were conducted via bank transfers, while a significant portion was taken in cash. This multi-channel approach was likely used to obscure the financial trail of the illegal operation.

Ongoing Investigation and Wider Links

While one agent is in custody, the police are actively searching for his associate, Sathik Syed. Authorities have emphasized that the probe is expanding. Efforts are underway to identify other individuals involved in this racket and to determine potential links to similar fraudulent cases across the country.

This bust highlights the ongoing risks faced by Indian job seekers looking for opportunities overseas. It serves as a stark warning to thoroughly verify the credentials of consultancies and agents making grand promises of foreign employment.
