Family Dispute Turns Violent, Four Injured in T'puram

A family dispute turned violent at Karimanal in Kulathur after a young man allegedly barged into a house armed with a knife and attacked four members of a family on Sunday night. The incident occurred around 11pm at Sreelakshmi Nilayam in Pullukada.

Victims Identified

The injured were identified as Anilkumar (56), his wife Bindu (52), and daughters Aswathi (24) and Archana (23). All sustained injuries during the attack and were admitted to hospital.

Details of the Attack

According to the complaint, the accused, Ananthu Shaji (27) of Thumba, is a relative of the victims. He reached the house carrying a knife following an ongoing family dispute. Police said Anilkumar attempted to stop him from entering the house and questioned his actions. During the altercation, Ananthu allegedly struck Anilkumar on the head using a bottle lying nearby. He then allegedly attacked others using a knife and a wire.

Police Response

Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing cries for help and informed police. Police said the accused fled the area soon after the incident. A case has been registered, and a search has been launched to trace him.
