Farrukhabad Administration Demolishes Illegal Constructions Linked to Gang-Rape Accused
In a decisive move, the tehsil administration in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, carried out a demolition drive targeting illegal constructions allegedly connected to individuals accused in a gang-rape case. The operation took place in the Kampil police station area on Tuesday, utilizing bulldozers to remove encroachments from government land under heavy police security.
Background of the Case and Administrative Action
Officials stated that this action was initiated following a serious criminal case registered on September 11, 2025. The case involves coaching operator Shibu and his associates Salman and Anas, who are accused of gang-raping a female student after administering intoxicating substances and threatening her by recording a video. All three accused were subsequently sent to jail on September 13, 2025.
Since the incident came to light, local residents had been vocally demanding stringent action against the accused. Responding to public pressure and citing the gravity of the offence, the administration launched proceedings under Section 67 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code. Notices regarding the illegal constructions were issued four days prior to the demolition.
Execution of the Demolition Drive
On Monday evening, under the supervision of Naib Tehsildar Anwar Hussain of Shamsabad, revenue officials meticulously measured and marked the encroachments for removal. The demolition was executed on Tuesday morning, focusing on several key locations.
- Shops located in front of the coaching centre, allegedly linked to the accused, were found to be encroaching by approximately three feet and were completely demolished. The shop owner later requested the administration to proceed with the demolition.
- Illegal encroachments on Navin Parti land at Gata number 336 in Nizamuddinpur village, which is the native place of accused Anas, were also removed.
- Illegal portions of shops and houses belonging to Shibu and Salman on Ganga Road, along with other encroachments near the main intersection, were razed.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Atul Kumar Singh, with a joint team of police and revenue officials ensuring a smooth and secure process.
Controversies and Claims During the Operation
During the demolition drive, the administration also demarcated Shakeel Market. The revenue team alleged that a portion of this market stood on cemetery land. However, market owner Shakeel strongly refuted this allegation, asserting that the construction followed an approved municipal map and that the matter is currently pending before the High Court. He also denied any connection with the accused individuals.
In another instance, house owner Awez Ali of Manjhgaonpur claimed that a computer centre operated from his building, which he had rented to his nephew. Ali stated he had no direct link to the incident and possessed valid rent agreements and documents. He expressed dissatisfaction, arguing that the administration should have heard his version before taking any action.

The demolition drive was conducted with significant official oversight and security. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Atul Kumar Singh, Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi, and a large contingent of police forces were present throughout the operation to maintain order and ensure the safety of all involved.
