FIR Registered in Lucknow After Woman's Suicide Linked to Alleged Blackmail by Classmates
Police in Lucknow have taken formal action three months after a tragic incident where a 24-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide, reportedly due to harassment and blackmail by two of her coaching classmates in the Chinhat area. An FIR has now been registered against the two accused on charges of abetment to suicide, marking a significant development in the case.
Details of the Incident and Allegations
According to police reports, on November 7, the young woman was discovered hanging inside her residence. The complaint, filed by her father, outlines a distressing narrative of severe mental stress inflicted upon the victim. It is alleged that she faced repeated threats from two classmates, identified as Hardik Tripathi and Mahi Raj Tiwari.
The victim reportedly confided in her mother over the phone shortly after returning from her coaching class, revealing that she was in a relationship with both accused individuals. She claimed that they had initially promised to marry her but later turned hostile, threatening to release private videos, photographs, and WhatsApp chats to the public. These threats allegedly left her in a state of extreme fear and mental turmoil.
Father's Discovery and Legal Pursuit
The victim's father stated that he was unwell at the time of the incident, which hindered his immediate understanding of the situation. However, after finding his daughter's mobile phone in her room, he uncovered crucial evidence, including details of the accused and their communications with her prior to the suicide. This discovery prompted him to approach the court, seeking directives for police intervention.
Police Investigation and Statements
Inspector Dinesh Chandra Mishra of the Chinhat police station confirmed that the complainant was summoned with the victim's mobile phone and other supporting evidence. "Statements will be recorded and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence," he stated, emphasizing the procedural steps underway.
