Five Dead in Three Separate Road Accidents Across Delhi; Drivers Apprehended
Three separate road accidents reported across South and Outer Delhi on Friday have tragically claimed the lives of five individuals, according to police officials. Authorities confirmed that the drivers involved in all three incidents have been apprehended as investigations into these fatal crashes continue.
Early Morning Dumper Truck Collision Claims Two Lives
The first accident occurred around 3:30 am in front of the Pul Prahlad Pur police station when a dumper truck allegedly ran over two motorcyclists. Police received a PCR call reporting that a truck had crushed two riders, leaving one dead and the other critically injured.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered a severely damaged motorcycle and two men lying near an ATM kiosk. Both victims were immediately transported to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi (AIIMS) Trauma Centre, where they were unfortunately declared dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Bablu, a resident of Southeast Delhi's Sangam Vihar, and Shivam. The dumper driver, identified as Vinod Kumar from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, was detained at the accident site. Police have registered a case under sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and seized the vehicles involved.
Investigating officers noted that no apparent road engineering faults were observed at the accident location during their preliminary examination.
Afternoon Water Tanker Incident Claims Teacher's Life
In a second tragic incident around 2:22 pm near Shah Alam Bandh Road in Jahangirpuri, a water tanker struck a scooter, resulting in the death of its rider. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Naaz, who worked as an English teacher at a government girls secondary school in Burari.
Police confirmed that the tanker driver was apprehended following the accident. Authorities reported that although crowds gathered at the site, the situation remained under control throughout the investigation process.
Mother and Son Perish in Narela Collision
Another fatal crash reported from Narela around 3 pm on Friday claimed the lives of a 16-year-old boy and his 40-year-old mother after their scooter collided with a truck. Both victims were declared dead at separate hospitals following the accident.
Police officers confirmed that the truck driver was caught at the spot of the collision. Authorities have stated that legal action is currently underway in all three cases as they continue their investigations into these separate but equally tragic road accidents.
