A foetus was found inside a women's bathroom near the emergency ward of MY Hospital in Indore on Friday morning, prompting a police investigation and raising questions over security arrangements at the state's largest government healthcare facility.
Discovery of the Foetus
The foetus was discovered after a few people entered the bathroom located opposite the emergency ward. They immediately alerted a security guard, following which hospital staff and sanitation workers reached the spot and brought it out.
Police Preliminary Findings
ACP Tushar Singh said preliminary information suggests the foetus was around three months old. It was kept in the hospital's CHMO room before being sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
ACP Singh stated that the mother might have had a miscarriage and delivered inside the bathroom. The exact details will be ascertained only after the probe.
Security Concerns Raised
The incident triggered concern within the hospital administration, as it happened despite the presence of security personnel and CCTV surveillance at multiple locations at the premises.
Investigation Underway
Sanyogitaganj police have launched an inquiry and are trying to identify the woman who had the miscarriage.
This incident highlights the need for stricter security measures and better monitoring in sensitive areas of the hospital to prevent such occurrences in the future.
