Tamil Nadu Appoints Former Chennai Police Chief A Arun as DVAC Director
Former Chennai Police Chief A Arun Appointed DVAC Director

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday appointed former Chennai police commissioner A Arun as the director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). According to an order issued by the state home department, additional director general of police (ADGP) T S Anbu has been posted as ADGP, law and order, replacing Maheshwar Dayal. Dayal has been transferred and posted as ADGP, administration, Chennai. The transfer order was issued by additional chief secretary to government K Manivasan. The officers concerned should assume charge of their new postings with immediate effect, it said.

In a significant reshuffle within the Tamil Nadu police department, the state government has moved key officials to new positions. The appointment of A Arun, a seasoned officer with extensive experience in law enforcement, is expected to bring a fresh approach to the anti-corruption watchdog. Arun previously served as the Chennai police commissioner and has a reputation for handling high-profile cases.

Meanwhile, T S Anbu, who was previously serving in another capacity, will now oversee law and order across the state. His predecessor, Maheshwar Dayal, has been reassigned to an administrative role in Chennai. These changes come as part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at optimizing police operations.
