SSP Dobal provided further context: "It was established during the probe that the deceased, Ankit Pal, was returning home via a motorbike taxi. As the driver approached an intersection and slowed down to turn towards a hotel, the two speeding motorcycles, operated by the accused, collided with them violently."
Aftermath and Legal Actions
Following the impact, both Pal and the driver sustained severe injuries and collapsed on the road. The perpetrators fled the scene immediately. Tragically, Ankit Pal was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital by medical authorities.
A formal case was registered promptly after the incident. The police successfully apprehended all four accused: Pranjal Ramola, 22; Abhishek Badoni, 21; Lokendra Prasad, 22 (from Uttarkashi); and Sumit Rathori, 22 (from Dehradun).
