New Delhi: Four individuals have been arrested and two minors have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and robbery of a motorcyclist on a highway in Holambi Khurd, located in outer Delhi. The incident occurred when the victim was returning home from his workplace in Shahbad Dairy on his motorcycle.
According to police officials, a white sports utility vehicle (SUV) intercepted the biker on the highway. The victim was allegedly overpowered, forcibly dragged into the vehicle, and assaulted while the SUV was moving. The assailants robbed him of his mobile phone and motorcycle before dumping him near a temple in Narela and fleeing the scene.
The victim's brother reported the incident to the police via a PCR call, prompting an immediate investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami stated, 'As part of the search operation, CCTV footage from all possible escape routes was analyzed. Through technical surveillance, local intelligence, and field deployment, the team intercepted and apprehended all six individuals involved in the crime.'
The arrested accused have been identified as Ankit, a 24-year-old driver from Sonipat; Harsh, a 21-year-old laborer from Nangal Thakran village in northwest Delhi; Sudhir, a 28-year-old vegetable seller from Sonipat; and Sanket, a 19-year-old employee of a private company from Sonipat. Additionally, two 17-year-old minors, both residents of Sonipat, have been apprehended.
Police have seized the SUV used in the commission of the offense and have recovered the victim's mobile phone and motorcycle. A case has been registered at the Narela Industrial Area police station under sections 310 (dacoity), 126 (wrongful restraint), 138 (abduction), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The swift action by law enforcement highlights the effectiveness of coordinated surveillance and intelligence operations in combating violent crimes in the region. Further investigations are underway to ascertain any additional criminal involvements of the accused.
