Broker Arrested in Connection with Case

Police have also arrested the alleged broker who facilitated the illegal entry. The broker has been identified as Mohammed Akkash Ali (32), a resident of Barpeta district who works as a taxi driver and was residing in a rented house in Guwahati's Dispur area.

A formal case has been registered against Ali at Dispur Police Station. "A case has been registered against Ali in Dispur PS," confirmed the police statement.

Legal Proceedings and Deportation Formalities

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for East Guwahati, Tabu Ram Pegu, stated that the detainees have been transferred to the border branch of the police commissionerate. Necessary legal procedures are currently underway, including deportation formalities to return the individuals to Bangladesh.

The police operation highlights ongoing concerns about illegal border crossings and the role of brokers in facilitating such entries. Authorities continue to monitor border areas and investigate networks involved in illegal immigration activities.
