Details of the Encounter and Arrest
According to Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, the CIA team, under the command of in-charge Suraj Kumar, confronted Kulwant Singh when he opened fire on a police party. In a swift retaliatory action, the police returned fire, injuring Gopa on his left leg. He was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital in Jalandhar for medical treatment.
The police have registered a case against him at the Jalandhar Sadar police station, citing his attempt to kill officials during the altercation.
