Wanted Gangster Pawan 'Mussa' Apprehended After Dramatic Police Encounter in Hisar

In a significant breakthrough, the Hisar police's Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) team successfully arrested wanted gangster Pawan, popularly known as Mussa, following a tense late-night encounter on Friday. The operation culminated in the accused sustaining a bullet injury to his leg during the exchange of fire.

Notorious Criminal with Extensive Record

Police officials revealed that Mussa, a resident of Moth Luhari village, was recently released from jail and is named in a staggering 35 criminal cases. His criminal activities span several robberies across Hisar and Barwala. Investigators disclosed an alarming modus operandi where Mussa allegedly posed as a cyber crime officer in Gurugram to deceive and dupe unsuspecting victims.

Operation Based on Specific Intelligence

Acting on a credible tip-off indicating Mussa was planning a criminal act near Piranwali village on National Highway 52, the CIA swiftly formed two specialized teams. They meticulously laid a trap near the NH-52 Pul Bagla Road intersection. When police signaled the suspect to stop, Mussa allegedly responded by opening fire on the officers.

During this initial confrontation, a bullet struck Police Sub-Inspector Naveen Kumar directly on the chest. Fortunately, his standard-issue bulletproof jacket absorbed the impact, preventing what could have been a serious or fatal injury. This critical protective gear proved instrumental in the officer's safety.

Successful Apprehension and Recovery

Undeterred, the police teams strategically surrounded the accused from multiple directions to prevent escape. In the ensuing operation, an officer returned fire, striking Mussa in his left leg. This injury effectively neutralized the threat, allowing police to overpower and formally arrest the gangster.

Upon search, authorities recovered significant evidence from Mussa's possession:

  • A .32-bore pistol
  • One magazine
  • Four live cartridges

Connection to Previous High-Profile Crime

Investigators have linked Mussa and his accomplices to a particularly audacious robbery in Hisar's Sector 14 on October 29 of last year. In that incident, he allegedly impersonated a Gurugram cyber crime officer and coerced BAMS doctors into transferring approximately Rs 2.5 lakh to his account through intimidation and deception.

The police have confirmed that further investigation into Mussa's extensive criminal network and activities is actively underway. This arrest marks a crucial victory for law enforcement in the region, potentially disrupting organized criminal operations.
