In a bizarre incident that has left authorities puzzled, an unidentified individual stole the main gate of Govt Home Science College (GHSC) located in Sector 10, Chandigarh. The theft occurred on Wednesday, prompting immediate action from the Sector 3 police station, which has registered a formal theft case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter.

Complaint Filed by College Watchman

The complaint was officially filed by Satnam Singh, a resident of Mullanpur in Mohali, who has been serving as the college watchman for the past two years. According to his statement to the police, Singh was on duty from 2pm to 10pm on January 28 when the incident unfolded.

During his routine patrol near the Sector 16/10/11/15 intersection, Singh reported that he found the old D-gate of the college intact around 6pm. However, in a startling discovery, when he passed the same spot again approximately 30 minutes later at 6.30pm, the gate had been completely removed by unknown persons.

Immediate Response and Police Action

Upon realizing the theft, Satnam Singh immediately informed the college authorities, who then proceeded to lodge a formal complaint at the Sector 3 police station. After verifying the facts presented in the complaint, police officials registered a theft case under relevant sections of the law.

The investigation is currently focused on examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the accused individual or individuals involved in this unusual crime.
