Generator Recovered in Buxar Mobile Tower Theft

Buxar: A stolen generator was recovered and a suspect detained on Saturday in the sensational case involving the disappearance of a 40-metre-high mobile tower from Dumraon town in Buxar district. Police said efforts are underway to arrest another accused and recover the remaining equipment.

The incident came to light when a team from GTL Infrastructure visited the site in Ward No. 18 to inspect and reactivate the mobile tower, which had remained non-operational since its installation in 2010. On reaching the location, officials found that the entire tower had vanished, leaving behind only an empty plot.

During the inspection, company officials discovered that the 15 kVA generator and several other pieces of equipment were also missing. Following the discovery, GTL Infrastructure’s land and operations officer, Baidyanath Ojha, lodged a complaint against unidentified persons at Dumraon police station, leading to the registration of an FIR.

He added that all those involved in the theft would be arrested and the remaining stolen equipment recovered.
