Ghaziabad Labourer Found Dead in Suspected Suicide, Body Lay Unnoticed for Days
In a tragic incident in Ghaziabad, a 24-year-old man was discovered dead at his residence in block C of Nandgram on Thursday. Police authorities suspect that the individual died by suicide, with evidence indicating the death occurred at least two days prior to the discovery.
Police Response and Initial Findings
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Nandgram, Ziauddin Ahmad, provided details on the case. He stated that around 9 am on Thursday, the man's landlord, Surendra Pal, informed the police about the suspected suicide. According to the landlord, the tenant hailed from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and worked as a labourer in Ghaziabad.
"Upon receiving the information, sub-Inspector and chowki In-charge Nandgram Omveer Singh and sub-inspector Praveen Kumar reached the spot with a team," ACP Ahmad explained. The prompt response aimed to secure the scene and initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Neighbors' Complaints and Background Information
Neighbors in the Nandgram area had reportedly complained to the landlord about a foul smell emanating from the house over the preceding two days. This alert led to the discovery of the body. Police inquiries revealed that the deceased had lived at the location with his family for several years. However, for the past couple of months, he had been residing alone, raising questions about his recent living conditions and mental state.
The case highlights concerns over migrant labourers' welfare in urban areas, with the victim being a young worker from Ahmedabad struggling in Ghaziabad. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of death and any underlying factors that may have contributed to this unfortunate event.
