A 13-year-old Class VII girl was allegedly gang-raped by a co-villager and his three accomplices in Bhojpur district on Sunday, police said.
Incident Details
According to police, the girl had gone to buy coconut water near a bus stand around 3pm. While waiting for an autorickshaw, a youth from her village, along with three others, allegedly forced her into a four-wheeler. They took her to a nearby forested area and gang-raped her. She later managed to reach home and informed her parents about the incident.
Protest and Police Response
Angered by the incident, family members and villagers staged a protest at the local police station, demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Sahar SHO Subodh Kumar pacified the protesters and assured them of strict action. Raids are on to nab the accused, and the victim has been sent to a hospital in Ara for medical examination, he added.
