The accused, identified as Amit Deepak Kale, had entered into a rental agreement with Gurudas Divkar, the bike rental operator, to use a scooter with a stipulated return time of 9am on Thursday. However, Kale failed to adhere to this schedule, arriving at the rental location at 10.20am, which sparked an immediate verbal altercation between the two parties.
According to police reports, the disagreement quickly intensified when Kale allegedly resorted to violence. He is accused of using a helmet and a hammer to assault Divkar, resulting in a serious fracture to the victim's left hand. The sudden and brutal nature of the attack caught the attention of nearby business owners, who intervened promptly to rescue Divkar from further harm.
