In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, Goalpara district police successfully busted a prostitution racket during a meticulously planned late-night operation. The raid, which took place at a local hotel, resulted in the arrest of three youths and the rescue of two women who were identified as victims of the illicit operation.

According to official statements released on Saturday, the operation was initiated based on specific and actionable intelligence inputs that pointed toward suspicious activities occurring within the premises of the hotel. Goalpara police station officer-in-charge Brajen Medhi confirmed that a dedicated police team swiftly acted on this information, conducting a surprise raid at the location to dismantle the racket.

Officer Medhi provided additional context, stating, "The arrested persons are currently undergoing intensive interrogation. Had we received earlier information about this racket, we could have intervened sooner to shut down the operation. Our priority now is to ensure justice for the victims and dismantle any broader network involved."
Hotel Management Under Scrutiny
During the inspection of the hotel premises, police noted that the owner was not present at the location. However, the manager who was on duty has been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities are investigating the potential involvement or negligence of hotel staff in facilitating the illegal activities, as part of efforts to hold all accountable parties responsible.
