In a daring daylight robbery, two unidentified miscreants on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain at gunpoint from a man in Sector 50, Chandigarh, on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 7 pm when the victim, Mohit Kumar, a resident of Sector 49, was out for a walk with his wife.
Details of the Incident
According to the police complaint, Mohit and his wife were walking near the Sector 50 market when two men on a bike stopped them abruptly. One of the assailants brandished a pistol and threatened the couple before snatching the gold chain from Mohit's neck. The duo then sped away on their motorcycle.
Victim's Attempt to Catch the Robbers
Mohit immediately tried to chase the fleeing robbers. During the scuffle, a part of the gold chain fell on the ground. However, the miscreants managed to escape with the remaining portion of the chain. Mohit promptly dialed the emergency number 112 to report the crime.
The police have registered a case against the unknown accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are underway, and the police are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits.

Senior police officials visited the crime scene and recorded statements from the victim and witnesses. A team has been formed to track down the robbers. The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
