A government school teacher was brutally murdered near Amritsar on Monday afternoon while returning home after dropping his teenage daughter at a tuition center. The victim, Jagdeep Singh of Talwandi Manak village, worked at Govt Senior Secondary School, Gehri Mandi, according to Jandiala Guru DSP Baljit Singh.
Attack Details
According to police, the assailants intercepted Singh on a deserted stretch of road around 2:15 pm. They stabbed him repeatedly in the head and face before slitting his throat. The viciousness of the attack has led police to suspect a personal motive. Singh bled to death on the spot. Passing motorists discovered his body lying on the road and alerted authorities. A police team, along with forensic experts, rushed to the scene.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a full-scale investigation and are gathering electronic and physical evidence from the surrounding area. The severity of injuries indicates a targeted and deeply violent attack, a police source said. Distraught relatives described Jagdeep as a peace-loving person with no known enemies. However, preliminary inquiries hint at a different dimension. Highly placed police sources said initial findings suggest a simmering family dispute, but officers caution it is too early to confirm a motive. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers and track their escape route.
