The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mumbai has registered a case against a railway employee for allegedly making lewd remarks. According to police officials, the accused is a booking clerk stationed at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), while the complainant is a woman who works as a tiffin carrier at the station.
Details of the Incident
The incident came to light when the tiffin carrier approached the GRP with a complaint against the booking clerk. She alleged that the clerk made inappropriate and lewd remarks towards her while she was carrying out her duties at the railway station. The police promptly registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the LTT GRP police station recently.
Legal Action Taken
The GRP has initiated an investigation into the matter. A case has been filed under sections of the BNS that deal with outraging the modesty of a woman and making obscene remarks. The accused has been identified and is being questioned by the authorities. Further legal proceedings will follow based on the findings of the investigation.
