Gurgaon: 12-Year-Old Boy Injured in SUV Hit-and-Run

Gurgaon: A 12-year-old boy sustained a serious head injury after being struck by an SUV near Sector 14 on Monday evening. The incident took place around 7 pm when Prayansh Narang was returning home from a tennis academy.

According to the complaint filed by his maternal uncle, Deepak Chawala, the boy was hit by a Grand Vitara SUV. Chawala alleged that the vehicle was being driven negligently.

A woman present at the scene stopped the vehicle and transported the boy to Kalyani Hospital in Sector 14 using the same car that had struck him. She then contacted the child's family to inform them of the accident.

Police received information about the incident through an emergency response vehicle (ERV) and brought the driver, identified as Gopal, to the police station. Medical examination and an alcohol consumption test were conducted on him. Since no complaint was filed at that time, he was released.

On Tuesday, Head Constable Mainpal visited Kalyani Hospital and obtained the child's medico-legal case report. The child was later transferred to Fortis Hospital, where he was admitted to the emergency ward.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 125(A) (rash or negligent acts endangering human life or personal safety) and 281 (rash driving) of the BNS at Sector 14 police station. Further investigation is ongoing, and police have stated that the driver will be arrested soon.

The incident has raised concerns about road safety in the area, with residents calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules. The boy's family is seeking justice and has urged authorities to take swift action against the driver.
