In a major crackdown, Gurgaon police arrested 16 foreign nationals during a raid on a farmhouse in the Bhondsi area. The individuals were found to be residing in India without valid documents and were allegedly participating in an unauthorized liquor party.
Massive Haul of Alcohol and Cash Seized
Acting on a specific tip-off, a police team conducted the late-night operation at the Elegant Farm located in Behlpa Greens. The raid led to the recovery of over 24 cases of liquor and 16 cases of beer, with the total value estimated at a staggering Rs 5 lakh. Additionally, officials seized cash amounting to Rs 3.2 lakh, all in bundles of Rs 50 denomination notes. Two decks of playing cards were also confiscated from the venue.
Illegal Stay and Legal Action
Police confirmed that all 16 arrested foreigners were staying in the country illegally. "All those staying illegally in India will be deported following the due legal process," stated a senior officer. Two bouncers hired for the event were also taken into custody during the operation.
The farmhouse owner and the manager have been named as accused in the case, and police teams are actively working to trace their whereabouts. Authorities also mentioned that the identity of the main party organiser is being ascertained, and more arrests are anticipated in the coming days.
Police Crackdown on Unauthorised Gatherings
Officers highlighted that such illegal gatherings are frequently exploited for activities that flout the law, especially by individuals lacking proper documentation. DCP (South) Hitesh Yadav emphasised that strict directives have been issued to prevent such unauthorized events, particularly during the ongoing festive and New Year season.
The accused have been formally charged under several legal provisions. The case includes sections of the Foreigners Act, the Excise Act, the Haryana Prevention of Public Gambling Act, and relevant clauses of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police investigation into the matter continues.
