Gurgaon Cab Driver Held for Molesting Woman Passenger

In a swift action by the Gurgaon Police, a 23-year-old cab driver was arrested on Thursday for allegedly molesting a woman passenger during a ride from Sector 47 to Cyber Hub. The accused, identified as Vijay Kumar, a BTech graduate from Prayagraj, was driving his personal car when he allegedly made obscene gestures and behaved inappropriately with the woman during the journey.

Incident Details

According to the complaint, the woman, who works at a private company, had booked the cab from her residence in Sector 47 on the morning of May 21. During the ride, the driver allegedly continued his inappropriate behavior despite her objections. The victim recorded a video on her mobile phone and repeatedly asked him to stop the vehicle. Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sector 51 women police station, Suman, stated that the woman remained inside the cab for approximately 10 to 15 minutes during the incident.

“The driver refused to stop initially despite repeated requests. He stopped only after she warned him, after which she got down and immediately informed the police control room (112),” the SHO said.
