A minor collision between a canter and a private bus in the Farrukhnagar area of Gurgaon escalated into a violent incident on Monday. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported.
Attack on Canter Driver
The canter driver was allegedly attacked by the bus driver, conductor, and their associates after the side mirror of the private bus was damaged in the collision. Following this, an argument broke out between the two sides, which soon turned violent.
The bus driver, conductor, and some other people then attacked the canter driver with sticks and a rod. They also damaged the windows of the canter during the altercation.
Self-Defense with Sword
In response, the Sikh driver first took out his kirpan. Seeing a group of people around him, he then pulled out a sword kept inside the canter and moved towards those attacking him. The crowd dispersed after he advanced towards them.
Police Intervention
The incident was captured on mobile phone cameras by those present. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said, "Police reached the spot after receiving information about the clash and intervened to bring the situation under control. Officials spoke to both sides, following which the matter was resolved."
