Gurgaon Gas Supplier Nabbed in Major LPG Black Marketing Operation
In a significant crackdown on illegal fuel trade, authorities in Gurgaon arrested a gas supplier on Wednesday for allegedly engaging in the black marketing of LPG cylinders. The arrest followed a coordinated raid that resulted in the seizure of 69 cylinders and three pickup vehicles.

The operation was conducted by a specialized enforcement unit in collaboration with the food and supplies department. Acting on specific intelligence about illegal storage and black marketing activities, police teams targeted a plot located opposite the Indane gas plant on Jail Road.
During the raid, officials discovered 26 filled and 43 empty LPG cylinders loaded in three pickup vehicles. The accused, identified as 48-year-old Sushil Kumar, a resident of Shanti Kunj Phase 2 in Bhondsi's Maruti Kunj, was apprehended at the scene.
Confession and Modus Operandi
According to police statements, Kumar confessed to operating a sophisticated black marketing scheme. He revealed that he would accept orders from legitimate gas agencies but would deliberately withhold delivery. Instead, he hoarded the cylinders to sell them later at inflated prices on the black market.
Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan stated, "The accused told police that he was engaged in the gas cylinder supply business in Gurgaon for the past five years." This admission suggests a prolonged period of illicit activity that may have contributed to local supply shortages.

A case has been registered against Kumar under relevant sections of the Essential Commodities Act at the Sector 65 police station. The arrest comes at a time when many Gurgaon residents have been experiencing difficulties obtaining gas cylinders through legitimate channels.
