Swift Action Prevents Tragedy in Gurgaon Guest House Blaze

A potential disaster was narrowly avoided in Gurgaon's Sector 28, Chakkarpur, when a fire erupted at a guest house in the early hours of Friday. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of police personnel, firefighters, and local residents, all occupants were safely evacuated, with no casualties reported.

Fire Breaks Out, Traps Occupants

The blaze ignited around 1:30 PM at the main entrance of a five-storey structure, which was rented by a private company as a guest house. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Flames and dense smoke quickly filled the stairway and upper storeys, blocking access from the front and trapping multiple people, including women, inside the 18 one-bedroom units.

Rescue Operation Mobilizes Quickly

Upon receiving the alert, a team from the Chakkarpur police chowki rushed to the scene and immediately notified the fire brigade and other emergency agencies. Senior officers, including DCP (east) Gaurav Rajpurohit and ACP (DLF) Vikas Kaushik, arrived to supervise the operation. With the front entry inaccessible due to heavy smoke, rescuers moved to the rear side, using ropes, grills, and ladders to reach the upper floors.
