Gurgaon Volunteer Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Incident on Chandu Badli Road
A tragic hit-and-run accident in Gurgaon has claimed the life of a 45-year-old man, identified as Tejendra, also known as Teju, who was a dedicated volunteer at Darshan Ashram in Budhera village. The incident occurred on Friday morning near a government school on Chandu Badli Road, where Tejendra was walking when an unidentified vehicle, driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, struck him.
Details of the Fatal Accident
According to police reports, Tejendra, a resident of Khalilpur village in Pataudi, had arrived at the ashram on Thursday and stepped out for a walk around 7 am on Friday. The vehicle, which fled the scene immediately after the collision, left him unconscious with fatal injuries. Passers-by rushed him to SGT Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead on arrival.
Anil Kumar, the victim's cousin, provided insights into Tejendra's life, stating that he had been volunteering at the ashram for the past two years and lived with his brother's family in Pataudi following a separation from his wife. "Tejender was a volunteer at the ashram and did not engage in any other work," Anil said, highlighting his commitment to community service.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Upon receiving information from the hospital, police rushed to the mortuary and identified the deceased before informing his family members. Based on a complaint filed by Anil Kumar, a case has been registered at Rajendra Park police station under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNS).
The investigating officer has initiated inquest proceedings under the BNS to thoroughly probe the accident. Police are actively working to identify and trace the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run, emphasizing the urgency of the investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice.
