Gurgaon Man Arrested for Killing Elder Brother Over Drinking

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, four days after he allegedly killed his elder brother during a quarrel at their residence in Daulatabad village, Gurgaon. The accused, identified as Aman, an employee at a private company in Udyog Vihar, was taken into custody from Sector 106 and subsequently placed on a one-day police remand for further interrogation, according to police officials.

Incident Details

Police reported that on May 31, they received information about a deceased man inside a house in Daulatabad village. A team from Rajendra Park police station arrived at the scene and discovered 26-year-old Ashish lying in a pool of blood. The authorities secured the area and summoned forensic and fingerprint experts to collect evidence. The body was sent for an autopsy and later released to the family.

Autopsy Findings

The autopsy report confirmed that the death was a murder. Based on a complaint filed by the family and the autopsy results, a case was registered at Rajendra Park police station, and an investigation was initiated.

Investigation and Arrest

During the investigation, police identified Aman as the suspect and apprehended him on Wednesday. According to police, the brothers frequently argued over Ashish's drinking habits. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan stated, During interrogation, Aman told police that Ashish was addicted to alcohol. On the day of the incident, another person came to drink with Ashish at the house. When Aman asked the visitor to leave, an argument broke out between the brothers.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Aman allegedly struck Ashish on the head with a brick and a spade, causing fatal injuries. The accused remains in custody as the investigation continues.
