Gurgaon Police Nab 21-Year-Old in Premeditated Cab Driver Murder Case

In a significant breakthrough, Gurgaon Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the kidnapping and brutal murder of a cab driver, whose body was later discovered in a mustard field in Farrukhnagar. The accused, identified as Shanu, hails from Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh and was apprehended on January 29 during a coordinated operation involving both Gurgaon and Delhi Police forces.

Premeditated Crime Motivated by Vehicle Theft

According to police officials, the crime was meticulously planned with the primary intention of stealing the victim's vehicle. The accused and his associates allegedly conspired to eliminate the driver to prevent any resistance and avoid subsequent identification. This chilling revelation underscores the calculated nature of the offense.

Case Unfolds Through Family's Vigilance

The tragic incident came to light when a concerned individual approached the Sector 9A police station to report that his brother-in-law, Suraj (25), a resident of Morena in Madhya Pradesh, had gone missing. Suraj, who worked as a taxi driver, had left for work on the afternoon of January 27 but failed to return home.

When attempts to contact him proved futile as his phone remained switched off, the family utilized the vehicle's GPS tracking system. The last known location was traced to the vicinity of Holy Chowk in Delhi, prompting immediate action.

Investigation Leads to Grisly Discovery

On January 28, the complainant traveled to Delhi, successfully located the taxi, and informed the Kapashera police station. Subsequent inquiries revealed the horrifying truth: Suraj had been kidnapped and murdered, with his body callously dumped in agricultural fields in Farrukhnagar.

An FIR was promptly registered at the Sector 9A police station under relevant sections pertaining to kidnapping and murder. Police meticulously verified the cab booking details and traced the associated phone number, which ultimately led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Shanu.

Accused Reveals Chilling Details During Interrogation

During police interrogation, Shanu disclosed that he had previously worked as a taxi driver for the brother of one of his accomplices. He confessed that the crime was orchestrated with the sole objective of stealing the cab.

As part of their sinister plan, the accused and his associates allegedly booked Suraj's taxi online and directed him to Basai Chowk. After traveling to a relatively isolated area, they requested the driver to stop under the pretext of needing to urinate.

At that moment, they seized the opportunity, grabbing Suraj from behind and strangling him with a muffler. Following the murder, the perpetrators dumped the body in a mustard field in Farrukhnagar and fled with the stolen taxi.

Police Recover Body and Intensify Investigation

Based on Shanu's disclosure, police teams successfully recovered the victim's body from the fields. A comprehensive forensic examination was conducted, involving a crime scene team, fingerprint experts, and a dog squad. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have confirmed the recovery of a vehicle used in the commission of the crime. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the remaining accused individuals and retrieve other items linked to the case. The arrested accused will be presented before a court to seek police remand for further questioning.

The investigation remains active, with officials dedicated to uncovering all facets of this heinous crime and ensuring justice is served.
