Gurgaon Schools Face Bomb Threats from Foreign Server, Prompting Mass Evacuations
Several schools in Gurgaon were thrown into chaos on Tuesday after receiving bomb threat emails originating from a foreign server. The alarming messages triggered immediate mass evacuations and intensive security operations involving bomb disposal squads and canine units across multiple campuses.
Security Forces Spring into Action
According to police officials, the threatening emails were all sent by an individual identified as "Giang Do." Upon receiving the alerts, school authorities promptly notified law enforcement, leading to rapid deployment of specialized teams to the affected locations.
"Teams from the concerned police stations, along with canine squads, bomb disposal squads and other specialized units, were rushed to the locations," confirmed police spokesperson Sandeep Turan. "Officials conducted a detailed inspection of classrooms, buildings, school premises and nearby areas."
Threats Target Schools and Trains
The emails specifically warned of potential explosions at the schools scheduled for 1:11 PM, with additional threats targeting several trains at 3:11 PM. Despite the detailed nature of the warnings, thorough searches revealed no suspicious objects or explosive materials at any of the locations.
In a concerning development, one email was also sent to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, seeking his support for the Khalistan referendum. The messages reportedly mentioned several senior politicians from across the country, adding a political dimension to the security scare.
Cyber Investigation Underway
Cyber experts have been brought in to trace the origin of the threatening messages and identify the sender behind the pseudonym "Giang Do." Various police teams are actively investigating the entire matter and verifying the authenticity of the emails and their source.
"No suspicious object or explosive material was found during the searches so far," Turan stated, emphasizing that the law and order situation remains fully under control despite the widespread alarm.
Authorities Urge Calm
Following the security operations, police have confirmed that all bomb threats were hoaxes. Authorities have urged the public not to panic or spread rumors, emphasizing that the situation is being handled with appropriate seriousness and thoroughness.
The incident has highlighted the vulnerability of educational institutions to cyber-enabled threats and the importance of coordinated emergency response protocols between schools and law enforcement agencies.
