Gurgaon Student Endures Three Days of Brutal Captivity and Torture by Live-In Partner

In a shocking case of extreme domestic violence, a 19-year-old student from Tripura was subjected to horrific physical abuse by her live-in partner over three days at a paying guest accommodation in Gurgaon's Sector 69. The accused, who was arrested on February 19, allegedly poured sanitiser on her private parts and set them on fire, among other brutal acts, while holding her captive between February 16 and 18.

Details of the Violent Assault and Captivity

The victim, a second-year BSc Biotechnology student at a private university in Gurgaon, detailed the ordeal in her police statement. According to the FIR registered at Badshahpur police station, the violence escalated dramatically on February 16. The complainant stated that her partner beat her repeatedly, struck her head against a bed and an almirah, hit her with a steel bottle, and smashed an earthen pot on her head.

The most disturbing aspect of the assault involved the accused pouring sanitiser on her private parts and igniting them. He allegedly threatened that he would beat her so severely that she would "never be able to walk properly or become a mother." Over the next three days, he also used a knife to inflict cuts on her legs and assaulted her with kicks and punches, confining her inside the room throughout this period.

Background of the Relationship and Escalating Violence

The couple first met through an online app on September 6, 2025. By the end of that month, the woman visited him at his residence in Delhi, where he promised marriage and they established physical relations for the first time. They later began living together in a rented accommodation in Gurgaon.

However, the relationship quickly turned toxic. The woman reported that he grew increasingly suspicious and violent. In January, he assaulted her and pressured her not to inform her family. On February 13, they shifted to the PG accommodation in Sector 69, which was taken on rent in the name of the accused.

Mother's Harrowing Account and Police Intervention

The victim's mother has provided chilling details, claiming that the accused urinated on her daughter and burned her private parts "three times every day during the confinement." In a phone call with her mother, the terrified student said, "I don't have time, I will be killed."

On February 18 around 10 PM, the woman managed to call her mother from the accused's phone, speaking in Bengali as he did not understand the language. Recounting the call, the mother said her daughter sounded terrified, telling her: "A man has been assaulting me for the last three days. He hit me and also burnt me. He will kill me today."

After receiving this distress call, the mother immediately alerted the police control room. A team reached the PG accommodation and rescued the woman, taking her to Civil Hospital in Sector 10. Doctors initially declared her unfit for a statement and referred her to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where she is currently undergoing treatment for multiple injuries.

Legal Action and Police Response

The accused was arrested after the case was registered under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code:

  • Section 115 (voluntarily causing hurt)
  • Section 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means)
  • Section 118(2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt)
  • Section 127(2) (wrongful confinement)
  • Section 69 (sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means)
  • Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation)

Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan (ASI) stated: "The girl was rescued by police and hospitalised. Her condition is currently stable. Police took immediate action and arrested the accused. Police are continuously in contact with doctors and family and some opinion is yet to be received from the doctors, if any further sections need to be added."

The mother has also alleged that the accused raped her daughter on the false promise of marriage. Additionally, the woman stated in her police complaint that the accused made a video of her during the assault.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Police authorities have emphasized that considering the family's emotions and present condition, a deep investigation is being conducted in the case. "The case is being treated as an identified crime, in which it is continuously monitored and the presence of witnesses is ensured on every date and the trial is completed as soon as possible," an officer added.

The police have committed to seeking the strictest possible punishment for the accused. "There will be a demand from the police side in court that the strictest, maximum punishment in this case should be given to the accused," the officer stated, underscoring the severity of the crimes committed.

This case highlights the extreme dangers of domestic violence and the importance of timely intervention by authorities and support systems. As the victim continues her recovery in Delhi, the legal process moves forward to ensure justice is served for the horrific ordeal she endured.
