Gurgaon Student Allegedly Confined and Raped by Live-in Partner in PG Accommodation

A shocking incident has emerged from Gurgaon, where a 19-year-old student of a private university was reportedly confined, assaulted, and raped by her live-in partner following a dispute at their paying guest (PG) accommodation in the Badshahpur area. The victim, who sustained severe injuries including burns on her body, was initially taken to Sector 10 hospital and later referred to AIIMS Delhi for advanced medical care due to the critical nature of her condition.

Police Action and Arrest of the Accused

Police officials confirmed that the accused, also aged 19, was swiftly arrested from Delhi shortly after the incident was reported. The case came to light when the woman's mother contacted the Badshahpur police station on February 19, alleging that her daughter was being confined and harassed by her boyfriend at their PG accommodation. A police team was immediately dispatched to the location, where officers found the woman visibly injured and promptly transported her to the hospital for treatment.

Background of the Relationship and Investigation Details

In the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the victim and the accused first met in September 2025. The survivor hails from Tripura, while the accused is originally from Delhi. According to police statements, the woman stated in her complaint that she and the accused lived together in the same room. Over the course of their relationship, the man frequently questioned her about her activities, leading to tensions.

An argument between the couple escalated into a violent assault and rape, as per the police report. Investigators noted that both families were aware of the relationship and had been discussing plans for their wedding. However, disagreements reportedly triggered the alleged assault by the accused.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Probe

Based on the complaint lodged by the woman, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Badshahpur police station. Gurgaon police spokesperson ASI Sandeep Turan stated that relevant sections were added to the case based on the victim's complaint and the medical examination report. A detailed probe is currently being conducted to uncover further details, including the duration of confinement and the specific circumstances that prompted the mother to contact the police.

This tragic event highlights serious concerns about domestic violence and safety in shared accommodations, with authorities emphasizing the importance of swift legal action in such cases.
