Gurgaon Teenagers Allegedly Attack Man and Woman During Police Investigation
In a shocking incident in Gurgaon's Feroze Colony, a 24-year-old man sustained severe facial injuries, including four broken teeth, after a teenager allegedly threw a brick at him from a terrace during an altercation that occurred in the presence of police officers on Saturday. The violent episode also left a woman in her 30s with a deep cut on her right thumb, requiring six stitches.
Escalation from Road Rage to Violent Assault
The confrontation originated from a road rage incident involving Naveen, the brother of a friend of the primary victim, Laksh Angrish. According to Angrish's account to authorities, Naveen was returning after purchasing ice creams around 10:30 PM in the New Colony area when he encountered two youths riding a motorcycle recklessly. After Naveen asked them to be cautious, an argument erupted, culminating in the teenagers allegedly slapping him.
Following this initial altercation, Angrish and others reported the incident to the police. When a police team arrived at the scene, the group accompanied officers to identify the residence of the suspected minors in the vicinity. It was during this police-assisted identification process that the situation dramatically escalated.
Terrace Attack and Additional Injuries
As the group approached the location, one of the suspects allegedly climbed onto a terrace and hurled a brick directly at them. The projectile struck Laksh Angrish in the face with significant force, causing injuries to his nose and jaw. The impact was so severe that it resulted in the loss of four of his teeth, as documented in the First Information Report (FIR).
In the ensuing chaos, Pooja, the sister of Angrish's friend Pankaj, attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation. Tragically, she was struck on her right thumb by a sharp object thrown during the melee. The injury was deep enough to necessitate six stitches at a medical facility, though she was later discharged after receiving treatment.
Medical and Legal Consequences
Laksh Angrish was promptly admitted to Tirth Ram Hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment for his injuries. His medico-legal report details a cut injury to the nasal and maxillary region with active bleeding, accompanied by considerable pain on the right side of his head.
Police authorities have registered a formal case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the New Colony police station. The charges include Sections 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 117(2) for voluntarily causing grievous hurt, and 3(5) for common intention. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that both suspects are believed to be juveniles, though their exact ages remain under verification as investigators have requested their official documents.
A police officer involved in the investigation stated, "We have asked for their documents and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Our teams are actively working to apprehend the accused individuals."
The incident has raised serious concerns about juvenile violence and public safety during police operations in residential areas. Authorities continue their efforts to locate and detain the suspects while gathering additional evidence about the circumstances that led to this violent outbreak.
