Gurgaon Teenager Fatally Stabbed in Dispute Over Rs 3,000 Loan
A tragic incident unfolded in Gurgaon on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old boy following a violent altercation over a financial dispute involving Rs 3,000. The victim, identified as Keshav from Bada Baijpur village in Palwal district, was stabbed by 24-year-old Manu in Sector 14 around 1:30 PM.
Details of the Fatal Confrontation
According to police reports, the conflict stemmed from a loan taken by Keshav's friend, Dheeraj, from Manu in December 2025 for a birthday celebration. Dheeraj failed to repay the money, leading to ongoing tension. Keshav intervened, urging Manu not to pressure Dheeraj for repayment, which escalated previous arguments between the two.
On Tuesday, Keshav approached Manu's workplace in Sector 14, where the disagreement turned physical. During the fight, Manu allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Keshav on the left shoulder. Shockingly, half of the knife remained lodged in Keshav's body as Manu fled with the other half.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Eyewitnesses quickly rushed Keshav to a private hospital, from where he was referred to Fortis Hospital for advanced treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Utilizing CCTV footage from the area, police swiftly located and arrested Manu, a resident of Gurgaon's Sheetla Colony, from the same vicinity in the evening.
A police officer stated, "The altercation was rooted in the unpaid loan, and Keshav's attempt to mediate led to this violent outcome. We have taken Manu into custody and are conducting further investigations."
Background and Ongoing Tensions
The incident highlights the dangers of unresolved financial disputes turning violent. Police noted that Keshav and Manu had known each other from a previous workplace, adding a layer of familiarity to the conflict. This case underscores the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and community safety measures.
Authorities are continuing their probe to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served. The community has been urged to report any similar disputes to prevent such tragedies in the future.
